DBF November 2026 preparation has entered the final stretch. With the four Diploma in Banking & Finance papers spread across November, the last month should be used for targeted revision, chapter-wise MCQs, numerical practice and timed mocks—not for repeatedly restarting the syllabus.
DBF November 2026: What to Focus on Now
DBF follows the same four-paper learning framework used for JAIIB preparation: Indian Economy & Indian Financial System (IE&IFS), Principles & Practices of Banking (PPB), Accounting & Financial Management for Bankers (AFM), and Retail Banking & Wealth Management (RBWM). Your final-month plan should treat the papers differently because each demands a different revision style.
| Paper | Final-month focus |
|---|---|
| IE&IFS | Economic concepts, financial system, regulators, markets and repeated factual/concept revision |
| PPB | Banking operations, customer service, deposits, credit, payment systems and application-based MCQs |
| AFM | Daily numerical practice, accounting concepts, formulas, ratios and error analysis |
| RBWM | Retail products, lending, recovery, wealth-management concepts and scenario-based questions |
30-Day DBF Study Plan
Days 1–10: Complete First Revision
Revise one defined block of the syllabus every day. Avoid passive rereading. After revising a chapter, immediately attempt questions from that chapter and mark every incorrect or doubtful question.
Days 11–20: MCQs + Weak Chapters
Increase question practice. Maintain an error notebook containing formulas, banking rules, definitions and concepts that you repeatedly confuse. For AFM, keep a separate formula and calculation sheet.
Days 21–26: Mixed Practice and Mini Mocks
Move from chapter-wise practice to mixed sets. This trains your mind to switch between topics and exposes chapters that looked comfortable during isolated practice.
Days 27–30: Final Revision
Do not start large new topics unless absolutely necessary. Revise your error notebook, formulas, important concepts and previously incorrect mock questions. Keep the final day lighter and organised.
Paper-wise Strategy
IE&IFS
Create compact revision sheets for institutions, financial markets, monetary/fiscal concepts and key relationships. Questions often test whether you understand how institutions and concepts connect rather than whether you remember a single line.
PPB
Use practical banking situations while revising. Ask what a banker should do, which process applies and why. This makes rule-based concepts easier to retain.
AFM
AFM cannot be prepared only by reading solutions. Solve calculations yourself under time pressure. Record calculation mistakes separately from conceptual mistakes so you know what needs correction.
RBWM
Connect products with customer needs, eligibility, risk and banking processes. Revise lending and wealth-management concepts through scenario-based MCQs.
How Many MCQs Should You Solve?
Quality matters more than an artificial number. A useful target is enough daily practice to cover the chapters revised that day plus a mixed revision set. Spend time analysing wrong answers; 100 questions with no review can be less useful than 50 questions followed by proper correction.
DBF Mock-Test Strategy
Start with chapter tests and mini mocks, then move to full-length papers. After each mock, classify errors into four buckets: concept gap, calculation error, confusion between similar options, and time-pressure mistake. Your next revision session should be based on this analysis.

DBF November 2026 FAQs
Is one month enough for DBF revision?
One month can be productive if the syllabus has already been studied. Prioritise revision, MCQs, numerical practice and mock analysis instead of trying to relearn every chapter from scratch.
Which DBF paper needs the most daily practice?
AFM generally benefits most from daily problem-solving because calculations and accounting application improve through repeated practice.
Should I solve full mocks every day?
No. Use full mocks strategically. Chapter tests and mini mocks are more useful while fixing weak areas; increase full-paper practice closer to the examination.
Where should I verify DBF rules and dates?
Always verify date-specific examination information and official rules from the Indian Institute of Banking & Finance (IIBF). Exam Prepp preparation articles should supplement, not replace, the official notice.
