SBI CBO preparation guide by Exam Prepp
SBI CBO preparation resources from Exam Prepp

A SBI CBO study plan for working bankers must fit around branch duties, commuting and family time. This adaptable 90-day plan uses short weekday sessions and longer weekly reviews. The timetable is a suggested learning plan, not an announced examination schedule.

Preparation for the next attempt: This guide uses the published 2026 recruitment as a reference where needed. Recheck the notification applicable to your attempt for changes. Study recommendations and examples below are editorial guidance.

A realistic weekday timetable

Use a 90-minute core session: 35 minutes for Banking Knowledge, 20 minutes for current affairs and economy, 20 minutes alternating English and Computer Aptitude, and 15 minutes reviewing previous errors. If your day allows two hours, add 30 minutes of typed descriptive practice or a sectional test.

On a busy day, protect a minimum session of 20 minutes: ten minutes of recall and ten minutes reviewing errors. Continue the next day without doubling everything and exhausting yourself.

Days 1–30: build the foundation

Take a diagnostic test first. Mark topics as strong, developing or unfamiliar. Cover banking structure, deposits, credit basics and financial statements. Alternate grammar and reading with computer fundamentals. Build a small daily current affairs notebook organised by banking, economy, schemes and important institutions.

At the end of every week, take one mixed practice set and write a short essay outline. Your target is a clear understanding of completed topics, not a large number of unread PDFs.

Days 31–60: practise and connect

Shift from isolated chapters to mixed questions. Connect banking developments with the underlying concept: a monetary policy story with transmission, a fraud report with controls, and a credit story with appraisal and risk. Introduce timed sectional tests and review the complete explanation after each test.

Complete two typed descriptive sessions each week. Prepare a factual self-introduction and a list of your actual duties for later interview preparation; keep this separate from your written test notebook.

Days 61–90: simulate and revise

Take full simulations using the current applicable SBI pattern. Reserve a separate session for analysis. Reattempt wrong and doubtful questions before starting a new mock. In the final weeks, reduce new resources and revise compact notes, important developments, writing structure and repeated errors.

Use a weekly review with four measures: topics recalled without notes, accuracy in completed topics, time lost in reading, and descriptive tasks completed. Change next week’s allocation based on these measures.

Weekend plan and missed days

Divide the weekend into one test session, one analysis session and one revision session. Avoid putting all study into a single long sitting. If a week is disrupted, retain the core banking and current affairs sessions, move secondary tasks forward, and extend the plan if your exam date permits.

Do not sacrifice sleep to achieve an arbitrary daily question count. A repeatable schedule with honest review is more useful than a short burst of very long sessions.
